Our shared understanding

Terms of Peace

Last renewed in 2026. Written to be read, not skimmed — take your time.

01The spirit of the sanctuary

Maristan is a digital sanctuary — a place of rest, guidance, and remembrance. These Terms of Peace are not a wall of legal defence; they are the shared understanding that keeps the hall quiet and safe for everyone who enters.

By entering Maristan you agree to walk gently: with seekers who arrive in vulnerability, with guides who offer their presence, and with space holders who open their doors.

02Who may enter

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You arrive as a seeker, a guide, or a space holder — and you may hold that role lightly; it can change as your path changes.

You are responsible for the truthfulness of what you share about yourself, and for keeping your sign-in credentials private.

03What Maristan is — and is not

Maristan connects seekers with guides, gatherings, group sessions, spaces, and a library of wisdom. The AI companion offers reflection and orientation, not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.

Guides are independent practitioners. Maristan does not employ them, and their offerings — however carefully reviewed — are their own. If you are in crisis or danger, please contact local emergency services or a licensed professional before turning to the sanctuary.

04Conduct within the walls

Speak to others as you would in a house of peace. Harassment, hate, solicitation, spam, and impersonation have no place here.

Do not scrape, record, or republish conversations, profiles, or library content beyond what the share features intentionally allow.

We may quiet or remove accounts that disturb the peace, with notice where the situation allows it.

05Bookings, payments, and proof

When a seeker books a session, the guide may send a payment request in AED, SAR, EUR, USD, or GBP, through the methods they have registered (bank transfer, STC Pay, and other regional or international means).

Payment happens directly between seeker and guide through the chosen method. The seeker uploads proof of payment in the app; the guide confirms receipt. Maristan holds no funds and cannot reverse a transfer — please verify details before paying.

Rescheduling requires the seeker's confirmation. Guides who enable auto-acceptance confirm bookings automatically.

06Your words and your privacy

Your conversations, onboarding answers, and the patterns the sanctuary learns about you are used to personalise your path — and nothing else. We do not sell personal data, and we do not show advertising.

You may choose what is visible: your participation in gatherings can be public or visible to attendees only. Old conversations remain stored so the sanctuary can remember you; you may ask for your data to be exported or erased by writing to us.

Notifications — reminders, payment nudges, library alerts — are sent only through the channels you enable in your settings, and each category can be switched off independently.

07The library and its sources

Books, talks, and podcasts in the library are drawn from public-domain and openly licensed sources, or shared with permission. The in-app reader and voice reading exist to make these texts accessible, not to claim ownership of them.

If you believe something in the library infringes your rights, write to us and we will review it promptly.

08Spaces and their keepers

Space holders list venues, rooms, and programmes. Reviews of spaces are moderated; listings are approved before they appear publicly.

Arrangements for renting rooms or hosting gatherings in a space are made between the guide and the space holder; Maristan provides the introduction and the record, not the lease.

09Changes and farewells

As the sanctuary grows, these terms may evolve. When they change in a way that matters, we will say so clearly in the app before the change takes effect.

You may leave at any time. Leaving closes your account; your stored conversations and data are erased within a reasonable period, except where the law asks us to keep a record.

10The fine print, plainly

Maristan is provided as it is, without warranty of uninterrupted service. To the extent the law permits, Maristan is not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the sanctuary, including the content of guide offerings or third-party payment services.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where Maristan is founded, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your own country.

May your path be luminous.
